As we are hearing frequently on the news, we are well into the flu season. “The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year.” cdc.gov For a letter from Sanger ISD, click the headline.
The district may close schools because of bad weather or emergency conditions. When such conditions exist, the Superintendent will make the official decision concerning the closing of the district's facilities.
A team of ten LTHS staff members and 23 students who gave of their time, heart and muscles Friday, December 15.
They traveled to Cedar Hill Police Department where 900 boxes containing 50,000 toys for Toys for Tots were being stored on the second floor of the Police Department. These toys were donated by Diamond Wishes Children's Charity. They needed some "bodies" to carry these boxes to a 54 foot FedEx Container so they could be shipped to Santa!!
Our crew made light work of these 900 boxes and moved all 900 in one and a half hours.
I cannot recall a time I have been so proud of our staff and students.
Our students and staff set a $200 goal to raise money for a family in Houston that was impacted by Hurricane Harvey. We met that goal, and then some. We raised $1000!
Staff members have been sending in some amazing pictures of what is going on inside and outside their classrooms. We will continually update the photo albums you can find under the Our District link at the top of district main page.
